This release builds upon the foundations laid down in 2020's Path of Compulsion LP. Written and recorded in the earlier part of the last 12 months, Past Tense reflects the feelings that lockdown life evokes - paranoia, nostalgia, claustrophobia, as well as occasional glimmers of hope. The album makes heavy use of hardware synths, guitar FX pedals and live recordings, and is largely inspired by my love of 70s/80s horror & exploitation films. As with my previous LP, it was conceived as a journey type listening experience, rather than a collection of singles.
